I have always held a deep passion for art, especially from the renaissance period. Leonardo da Vinci is the one artist that has had the greatest impression on me from the beginning. The painters from what is known as the "Dutch Golden Age" are truly amazing. Rembrandt is one that I admire and attain inspiration from as well as the wonderful landscapes of Jacob van Ruisdael. The English landscapes of John Constable are so beautifully painted. I feel I was born to be an artist too, as I have always felt a great passion for painting and drawing all of my life. I am self-taught and have been creating my artwork for over 30 years now and continue to in a traditional form. It is a style I would like to see more artists of today paint in as well. In all of the beautiful European countries that I have traveled to such as Italy, Germany, Holland, Yugoslavia, Switzerland, Hungary and England, there are so many beautiful and amazing pieces of art that one cannot help but become inspired. Most of my postings here will be of original oil paintings that I have painted. Some of these will be available for purchase. Please email for further information or purchase inquries.
Please visit my wife’s blog "The Deacon Art Gallery". She is a wonderful artist who not only inspires me as an artist everyday; she is an inspiration in everyway.
Beginning in the 1970's and later continuing into the mid 80's, I became the head designer for Sky Designs, a clothing company in West Hollywood, California. I have had my designs worn by music entertainers such as Ringo Starr, Ricky Nelson, Bobby Vinton, Ike Turner (Ike & Tina Turner), Buddy Miles (Drummer for Jimi Hendrix) and Joni Mitchell. Many of which you could see wearing them on NBC's "Midnight Special" with Wolfman Jack at the time. Below you can see one of the outfits that I did for singer Marvin Gaye on his "Live!" album. It was a great experience and a very exciting time!

For about five years in the early 90's, I had worked for Hollywood film producer Ralph S. Singleton along with his wife Joan who is also a film producer as well as a book publisher. I have also worked with film director Mary Lambert and Ralph S. Singleton as their production assistant on Paramount Pictures motion picture “Pet Sematary Two”, for which I have received a credit in the ending film credits. Besides directing many films including Steven King’s “Pet Sematary”, Mary Lambert has also directed numerous music videos by Madonna, Janet Jackson, Sting, The Pretenders, Lionel Richie and The Eurythmics. Ralph S. Singleton has produced numerous films starring such actors as Bruce Willis, Harrison Ford, Steve Martin, Eddie Murphy and Nick Nolte.

A dear friend
Felix de Weldon
I have also had the pleasure to have known artist and sculptor Felix de Weldon who was not only my friend, but neighbor as well. I first met Felix when he frequented the art store that I had owned and then later becoming my neighbor. Mr. de Weldon is internationally known and is probably most famous for his sculpture of “The Flag Raising on Iwo Jima” in Arlington, Virginia as The Marine Corps War Memorial. He has sculpted many busts of military heroes and presidents including Presidents Kennedy, Eisenhower and Truman, not to mention over one thousand public memorials worldwide. He was appointed to the Presidential Fine Arts Counsel by President Kennedy in 1961. Sadly Felix passed away in 2003 at the age of 96. He was a fascinating man and is missed. I was kindly presented with an original sculpture he did of “Winged Victory of Samothrace” by his wife Joyce before his passing. Below is a photo of it. It is very beautiful and I do feel very honored to have been given it. The original Winged Victory of Samothrace is in the Louvre in Paris, France.
